I'm Senior Director of Innovation at Life Time in Minneapolis. Despite Minnesota's reputation for frigid weather and questionable cuisine, I rather like it here: great qualify of life, constantly ranked as one of the healthiest cities, one of the most bike-friendly metro areas and super low unemployment.
I'm married and father to a couple amazing kids. I grew up in Iowa and graduated from Iowa State University. My goal after graduation was to find a job that would take me far from the Midwest. That brought us to California, where I worked for Intel. The climate of the Sacramento Valley agreed with me, but opportunity pulled us back to the Midwest, moving to the frozen tundra of Minnesota in 2003.
In the intervening years I've done some consulting, earned an MBA, and managed development teams at Dow Jones, Thomson Reuters and Bloom Health. Now Life Time Fitness. My interest has always been technology, running and cycling, and I feel truly fortunate to find challenging opportunities doing what I love.
In 2010 my brother urged me to try triathlon. Growing up I was not much of an athlete (a little soccer, mostly a band nerd), but I did bike and run. I was hooked immediately. Training now dominates my remaining free time, preparing for triathlons, half-marathons and trail races. In June 2013 I completed my first Half Ironman and first marathon later that year. I stay active, and completed my first full Ironman, Ironman Madison, in September 2017. Training keeps me focused on a larger goal year-round.
I have been on this planet for 40.3 years, last spotted in Kīhei, HI.
